Internal Dialogue
Your internal dialogue is the conversation you have with yourself. Most people who are struggling in some way have a negative internal dialogue. Take a moment and evaluate yours.
When something goes wrong, what are your first words to yourself? When you make a mistake, do you beat yourself up immediately? Awareness is key. If you don't know there is a problem with your self talk, you will continue to dig deep into the struggle.
A huge part of recovery is in changing your vocabulary and your internal dialogue. If you answered the questions above in a negative direction - you will likely need to ask someone for help to evaluate and make some changes. Since this is your usual (habit) - you may not be able to see where you need to make changes. Being able to ask for help is actually a strength.
