Good Stress - Bad Stress
Stress can deplete your energy and cause you problems with your emotional health, physical health, relationships and career. However, all stress is not bad. Good stress is called eustress and can be very motivating. Here are some examples of good stress:
Stress that moves you to accomplish your goals is considered desirable. For example, if you need to be up at an early time so you can go to work out and meet your health goals - your alarm clock is good stress. If you do some extra sit ups, push ups or run a little further - it is good stress.
Stress related to positive life changes is also considered good. For example, if you are buying a new house or getting married - all of the planning required is stressful but the outcome outweighs the stress you have to endure.
The strength you gain from going through the change makes you more capable and wise. Stress impacts all people differently but can be managed. If you feel overwhelmed from a stressful event you can ask for help. Often, gaining a different perspective can change the impact. Don't forget to pause before reacting and breathe!!
