The reason so many people don't have common sense is because we don't hold them accountable for their behavior.  Too many excuses to not use their brain. 

Common sense can be taught but everyone is so caught up in protecting others feelings and trying not to offend someone.  Well, I am offended that I am sharing the world with people that don't get it and don't care.  My mother taught me by making me do something over until I got it right.  My Mom did not hesitate to say - in public - what? now you go back and do that again, you know better than that.  And, while I don't agree with abuse my Mom wasn't afraid to smack me in the back of the head if I acted a fool.  I think one of my favorite memories - seriously makes me giggle - was pretending I didn't see trash on the ground in front of me and she made me go back and pick that up and every piece of trash I saw for a 3 block radius.  Now, at the time, I thought she was evil but I am pretty thankful because now I get it before anyone has to say anything.  I do, sometimes, still flinch when someone swats at me.

So, to those of you who don't know how to act, try this - do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  Lead with your heart and your head will follow.
