Fake It 'Til You Make It

In the RESTRUCTURING blog, you will notice that behaviors follow feelings.  We typically act how we are feeling.  When working in the restructuring model, it does not matter where you start - with thought, feeling or behavior.  Changing one changes the others.  The cycle is circular.  

Have you ever heard of "fake it til you make it?"  This is something that starts small but can change everything.  For example, if you smile (behavior) then it feeds your thoughts to be more positive.  This in turn feeds your feelings - more positive.  Hmm!  In turn, the smile gets bigger and more genuine and the cycle continues to build momentum in the positive direction.  

If we are feeling bad and act consistent with our thoughts and feelings, it continues the cycle.  Negative feeds negative.  It is very important to not feed the feelings.  Feelings are NOT facts.  Act opposite of your negative feelings and you change it all.  You are in charge.
